In the heat of summer 2023, a father’s desperate mission to save his son from unbearable pain planted the seeds of FiiHii. What started as a quest to heal his child soon transformed into a profound journey that revealed the powerful link between gut health, mental well-being, and the simple, yet essential, nutrient: fibre.

With the increase in global health issues such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, cancers, and Alzheimer’s, we believe that better nutrition and higher fibre intake are essential solutions. Today, many have lost touch with proper eating habits, and at FiiHii, we aim to help people reconnect with nutrition that supports lasting health and wellness.

At FiiHii, when we refer to the “gut,” we are talking about much more than just digestion. Our Story

The Story Behind FiiHii: Why We Exist

FiiHii wasn’t just an idea it was a necessity. In the summer of 2023, my son was in absolute agony. Stomach issues, relentless pain, and no clear answers. As any parent would, I dove into research to find a solution, only to discover something game-changing: the gut-brain axis.

A Discovery That Changed Everything

I learned that 80% of the bi-directional signals between the gut and brain flow from the gut to the brain. That flipped everything I thought I knew about health on its head. If the gut was so connected to mental health, what could it mean for my son?

It all came down to fibre. Gut bacteria thrive on diverse sources of fibre, and the healthier the bacteria, the better the signals sent to the brain. That’s when it hit me: your gut really is your second brain.

But this wasn’t just academic it was deeply personal.

My Own Struggles

The year before, I was dealing with my own health issues. Stomach Ulcers from stress, a poor diet, and a body that was breaking down. My son had been abducted, and I was fighting a battle to get him back into the country. It drained me emotionally and physically. Missing out on all those special first moments and not knowing if i would ever see him in person again. I wasn’t eating right and ran on ultra-processed junk. Soon enough, my body was telling me something was wrong.

After blood tests and a lot of uncertainty being told by doctors there was nothing wrong but knowing your body, you know something is wrong, I finally discovered I had a tumour on my pituitary gland. It was another wake-up call. How many of us are living in a cycle of stress, exhaustion, and poor diet, just trying to survive?

That’s when I knew: I had to do something. I founded FiiHii not just for my family, but to help people like you reclaim their health, energy, and vitality. Fixing the System—Starting with Schools

One moment that really hit me was a visit to a primary school in London. The headteacher told me they don’t allow packed lunches because kids were turning up with nothing but a biscuit for the whole day. They were starving. How can kids focus when they’re hungry? How can they learn when they’re struggling to concentrate?

This broke my heart, but it also sparked something deeper. I’ve been there. Growing up, my brother and I relied on free school meals, and I know what it’s like to go without, to be looked down upon and written off because you don’t have the basics. This is bigger than just a product. We need to fix the system, starting with nutrition for our kids.
